To publish certificates to the file system
- Log on to the system as a Certification Authority Administrator.
- Open Certification Authority.
- In the console tree, click the name of the certification authority (CA).

- On the Action menu, click Properties.
- On the Exit Module tab, click Properties.
- On the Publication Settings tab, select the Allow certificates to be published to the file system check box, and then click OK.
- Stop and restart the Certification Authority service.

- To request a certificate and have it published to the file system, certificate requestors must include a certfile:true attribute in their request. After the certificate is issued, it is copied to FileName.cer, where FileName is the request ID of the certificate request.
- The file is written in the CertEnroll share on the CA.
- You cannot overwrite files using this method.
